Which sites are available for student use before August 1, 2021?
Companion websites for all the Al-Kitaab third edition textbooks are available for student use beginning July 1, 2021.
I need access to the companion website for my summer course. How do I access it?
- Option 1: Your teacher will give you a Course Link to the companion website for their course.
After you receive an email from your teacher with a link to their companion website course (powered by Lingco), click the link, log in or sign up for a new account. You can purchase access to the companion website when you create an account or before the 14-day grace period ends. You are now connected to your teacher’s course!
- Option 2: Your teacher will add you to their companion website class roster and you will receive an email from Lingco.
Click on the link in the email, then log in or sign up for a new account. You can purchase access to the companion website when you create an account or before the 14-day grace period ends. You are now connected to your teacher’s course!
- Option 3: Your teacher will give you a Course Code and not a link.
Click here to create an account or log in to the companion website platform, Lingco. After you have logged in or created a Lingco account, you will be prompted to enter the Course Code provided by your instructor to join their course. If you do not have a Course Code yet, you can link to the course later by logging into your account and inputting the Course Code at any time. You can purchase access to the companion website when you create an account or before the 14-day grace period ends. You are now connected to your teacher’s course!
Unsure of how to join your course? Ask your teacher!
Please note, textbooks that include access codes will be available August 1, 2021. If you bought a new textbook that does not include an access code and will not be using it until after August 1, 2021, we strongly encourage you to return it and order the new books that do include access codes.
I want to use one of the companion websites on my own, without an instructor. Can I do that?
Yes, the companion websites can be used either in instructor-led classes or independently. Please see the information for independent learners.
If you are a student who already has a “standalone” version of the textbook (sans website) that was purchased before the transition to the new ISBNs on August 1, 2021, please refer to the “For Independent Learners” page for more information about purchasing the websites separately.
Fall 2021 and Beyond
All companion websites will be fully available by August 1, 2021. At that time, textbooks that include access codes (granting 18 months of companion website access) will also be available. Students will still be able to join their teachers’ courses in one of the three ways listed above, and will still have the option to enter their access code/purchase access at any point in the 14-day grace period after account creation.
